What is a Podiatrist?
Podiatrists are highly skilled, professional foot specialists.
There is a lot of study involved to become a Podiatrist in the UK; this ensures we are extremely qualified and able to diagnose, treat and prevent problems with the feet & lower limbs. All qualified Podiatrists have completed a minimum of a 3 year degree in Podiatry.
That’s 3 years of intense study of foot anatomy & physiology - so rest assured, we know lots about feet!

Chiropodists - you may recognise this term, as it used to be widely used. Podiatrist is the modern name for foot specialists, as Chiropody was given the new name of Podiatry in 1993.
Some people still use the term Chiropodist, we are both fully qualified and there is no difference between Chiropody and Podiatry.
